Here’s terrific news for all the Doctor Strange Fans. You could see him again in the movie ( Dr Strange 2 ) “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” Those who don’t know the film is based upon the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s characters. Doctor Strange is a superhero, and the audience loves him. 

Marvel Studios produced the movie, but its distribution rights are with Walt Disney Motion Pictures. This is the sequel of Doctor Strange released in 2016 which was directed under Marvel Cinematic Universe. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be MCU’s 28th movie.

Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron are the writers and the movie is directed by Sam Raimi. The movie showcases Benedict Cumberbatch as the protagonist, Stephen Strange. Moreover, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel Adam’s, Elizabeth Olsen, and Xochitl Gomez will also be starring.

In the movie, Strange will be seen casting a spell that will open a door that leads him to the “multiverse.” The multiverse will be another substitute of the universe that will be having a replica of Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ( Dr Strange 2 ) Release Date

Dr Strange 2 will be released soon. However, it has been delayed by a year in which it was planned. The production house had intended to release it on 7th May 2021; however, it was later scheduled to release on 25 March 2022. Audiences at the time hoped for the date to be final. However, the release date of Dr Strange 2 has been rescheduled to 6th May 2022.

Now, fingers crossed, hoping that this will be the final date. The movie’s shooting began in November 2020 and ended in April 2021. Several restrictions and obstacles delayed the filming. Further, plenty of reshoots had to be done that ended in September 2021. Similarly, reshoots occurred in December 2021 also.

As per Hollywood journalists, the decision for a second reshoot round was taken considering Liki and No Way Home’s success. So that Marvel could add more fun to the movie, if the reports are accurate, you could foresee many cameos, surprises, and old characters coming back in the film.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Teaser:

We had seen a glimpse of the movie for the first time in its teaser. One of the incredible things that you must have also witnessed if you had seen it is “Strange Supreme’s” comeback from “What If?” It seems pretty impossible to imagine the role that he will play! 

Then Mordo is seen warning Strange, “I’m sorry, Stephen. I hope you understand the greatest threat to the universe is you.” The teaser then ends, showcasing a glimpse of another character, the protagonist, Cumberbatch. The teaser also showcases Strange, who seeks help from WandaVision for the multiverse; however, here again, it’s unclear that she’s a friend or enemy.

The Multiverse of Madness now has a significant MCU part that includes a series of Disney+.  It is also said that the Loki series and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have a connection in their plots. Moreover, it is necessary to understand and connect well with the sequel. Makers say that they have experimented with storytelling to explore more perspectives. Marvel has officially released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer on 21st December 2021. If you’re wondering when it happened, you don’t know. It all happened after Marvel made a debut with No Way Home’s post-credit scenes.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Plot

After all that happened in Avengers Endgame, Dr. Strange proceeds with his study on the Time Stone. Yes, you heard it right, the stone that might be your attention seeker also! However, one of his former friends who becomes his rival tries to fail all his plans. Further, he also asks Dr. Strange to reveal his spell.

I longed that WandaVision would bring out some clarity. You might be foreseeing a Dr. Strange cameo, but it didn’t happen. It’s felt that the series will be renewed for another sequel; however, I don’t know how it will happen.

Doctor Strange sequel will revolve around Endgame’s events. But, many like me are in awe about whether she will be helping Dr. Stranger or creating more trouble for him! 

Speaking to the makers about whether Cumberbatch’s final movie with the MCU, I don’t think we should bother about it much. The actor explained that as long as the role is exciting and has several aspects, he would leave! Moreover, Marvel is also doing great and has gained immense popularity.

Why were the filming and release dates delayed?

The director and co-writer of Dr Strange 2, Scott Derrickson, decided on a sequel in October 2016. He even agreed to his setback as its Director in 2018, wherein Cumberbatch’s debut was confirmed. However, due to creative differences, Covid restrictions, and reshoot reasons, the filming and release date was rescheduled time and again. However, filming is complete, and the release date is officially confirmed. 

All the audiences will surely enjoy the movie. After all, Doctor Strange is not just a superhero for us but also a heartthrob. His outfit and time-stone are what add a feather to his cap. Be it any Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie/series; it always wins everyone’s hearts. It applies to Disney as well. So, you know what you can expect from this film. A film showcasing Doctor Strange, produced by MCU and distributed by Walt Disney, will be every moment spent watching it!
