The comedy-oriented audience would be delighted to hear that Netflix is soon coming with a series to make your stomach burst from laughter, God’s Favourite Idiot. The entire series would have 16 episodes, but initially, the makers announced that they would premiere 8 episodes. 

The drama would be starring real-life couples Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy, who have previously worked together in numerous films and projects. Falcone also pens down the script of the series. 

The Filming took place in New South Wales, Australia, where the first 8 episodes were completed until June 2021. Talking about the remaining episodes, the date and the location of the shooting is yet to be decided.

A spokesman of Netflix has released his statement regarding the halt in the shooting of the series, saying that the whole production team is pleased by the welcoming gesture of Australia, and unfortunately, the shooting has been halted.

He also thanked Ben, Melissa, and the whole casting team, saying that it was a great experience working with talented people.

The earlier halt than the decided schedule had made local politicians of Australia say that the promised subsidy has not been paid either to Netflix or any other linked production company.

According to the Australian media, the payment to the cast was made for 16 weeks. But as for the local crew, they were paid only for the work already finished. 

The release of the series is much awaited significantly by the die-hard fans of the leading duo. Although the specific information is kept a secret, we are looking forward to other updates regarding the teaser and the date of release of the show.
